Cinnamon Rolls


This is an easy home made recipe for tasty soft fluffy cinnamon rolls glazed with vanilla  sugar.



Ingredients:

All purpose flour: 1 and 1/2 cups
Sugar: 1/4 cup
Yeast: 1 tsp
Milk: 1/4 cup
Salt: 1/2 tsp (if using unsalted butter)
Water: 30 ml
Unsalted Butter: 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Egg: 1

For Filling:

Unsalted Butter (softened):  1 and 1/2 tbsp
Cinnamon powder: 1/2 tbsp
Granulated Sugar: 1/4 cup

For glazing:

Powdered sugar: 1/2 cup
Vanilla extract: 1/4 tsp
Milk: 1-2 tbsp

Method:

1. Mix the flour, sugar, salt and yeast in a bowl.
2. Warm milk, butter and water together in a bowl till the butter melts and 
    add to the ingredients in step 1 along with the egg. Mix well to make a soft dough.
3. Rest the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it for 10 mins.
4. Roll the dough into rectangular sheets and brush softened butter over it. 
    Mix sugar and cinnamon powder together and sprinkle it over the sheet.
5. Roll up the sheets tightly and cut in to equal pieces.
6. Arrange the rolls in a lightly greased pan.
7. Cover the rolls with aluminium foil or plastic wrap and allow it to rise for 1 hour.
8. Bake the rolls once it is doubled in size at 190 degree Celsius for 12-15 mins. 
    Cover the rolls loosely with aluminium foil if it is browned too quickly.
9. Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. Pour this mixture evenly over warm rolls.
